My work has taken me through nursing, education and counselling, with people from many different walks of life.
I began my working life in nursing, returning to it after having my children. I then began a career in education, initially teaching life skills to adults with learning difficulties, and later qualifying as a lecturer in Further Education.
I taught in Health and Social Care and Special Education departments, lectured in counselling, and taught English, communication and life skills in a prison setting.
